In case you couldn't get enough.

The owners also didn't put any trim on the doors or the windows. When you close the front door it is invisible except for the door knob. Another thing about the door, it is an interior door. They were using a hollow core door with just a locking doorknob for the front door. Real secure.

Cleaning

Photobucket
As soon as deal closed my mom and I were over to start the tedious process of cleaning everything. All of the walls, ceilings, and floors were coated with smoke residue. The smell of smoke was overwhelming. My throat started to hurt after a few minutes. I cleaned each wall section by section with 409. We bought a few gallons of 409 and put it into a sprayer.

Needless to say, we used several gallons of cleaner and water. Many rags were sacrificed in the name of cleanliness

Yes, this is my house.

Hard to believe, but I own this pile of crap. I can't believe it either. It needed a complete renovation some cosmetic work and some dynamite tlc. So far we have replaced the roof, all of the windows, front door, and the kitchen cabinets. The previous owner had done just about nothing to the home since it was built in 1953. They did add central air and a sprinkler system for the gorgeous landscaping. The son of the owner was living there at the time of sale. He didn't feel the need to improve anything either. Goody for me! As an added bonus, there was a nice accumulation of cigarette smoke/tar on every surface imaginable.
